The year 2008 was a seminal one for our CEO Jitka Borowick. That was when she graduated from Cape Cod Community College with an associates degree in liberal arts. It was also the year that Jitka launched Cleangreen, an eco-friendly company that offers residential, commercial and construction cleaning on the Cape.

A decade later, as our company celebrates its 10-year anniversary, our CEO continues to receive recognition for all that she has achieved.

At its commencement earlier this month, Jitka was honored with Cape Cod Community College’s Alumni of the Year Award.  “I have such fond memories of my time in college,” Jitka said. “It’s where I built my confidence, forged lasting friendships, and realized I wanted to become a business owner here on Cape Cod. I am truly humbled to receive this award from a college that played a pivotal role in helping me realize my dreams.”

Jitka, who attended 4Cs from 2005 to 2008, shared the stage at this year’s commencement with Ralph Cahoon III, a behavioral health clinician at Community Health Center of Cape Cod, who was the other Alumni of the Year Award recipient. Previous Alumni of the Year Award winners have included Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce CEO Wendy Northcross; Dr. Alice Curran, a faculty member at the University of North Carolina’s School of Dentistry; and US Navy Captain Douglas Verissimo, commanding officer of the USS Carl Vinson.

Commitment to 4Cs

Jitka has remained active with her alma mater, previously serving on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Community College Alumni Association as well as the college’s educational foundation.

After graduating, Jitka attended Suffolk University, earning her bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2011. In April, Suffolk recognized Borowick with its 10 Under 10 Award given out to young alumni who, less than 10 years after their time on campus, are making major contributions in their field and in their community.

With all her personal achievements, Jitka continues to find ways to make an impact through both her work and her involvement in the community.

That can be witnessed at Cleangreen which has grown from a one-person enterprise to a business with a year-round staff of nearly 20 employees. Over the years, Cleangreen and Jitka have received recognition for our work, including being selected the Best Cleaning Services company, from 2012-2016, in Cape Cod Magazine’s annual online reader survey; 2015 Business Woman of the Year by Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine; and 2016 Small Business Owner of the Year by Cape Cod SCORE.

Jitka’s community involvement includes serving as chair of the Board of Directors for Flower Angels USA; past president of the BNI Convergence Team; and president elect of the Rotary Club of Hyannis.
