Jitka Borowick | CEO

It started with a dream – a dream to make a positive difference, not only through her work, but in her every day life – rooted in a smaller dream to learn a new language. So our founder, Jitka Borowick, a native of the Czech Republic, moved from her home country to Cape Cod in 2003.

Her initial goal was to become fluent in English.

With time, effort, dedication, and support from the community, Jitka was able to achieve that goal five years later when she graduated with an associate degree from Cape Cod Community College.

That same year (2008), Jitka embarked on a new dream when she launched Cleangreen. Her vision was to create the most effective, safe, and affordable eco-friendly cleaning business on Cape Cod.

Cleangreen began as a one-person enterprise. Jitka was not only the owner, she was our sole employee. Through those early years, Jitka held fast to her vision that included having a company office, a staff that shared in her philosophy, and finding clients throughout Cape Cod who could benefit from an eco-friendly cleaning company that was committed to improving lives and giving back to the community.

Since then, Cleangreen has grown in leaps and bounds. Today, it employs a staff of nearly 20 people on a year-round basis while holding firm to its values. From 2012 to 2016, it earned “Best of Cape Cod” from Cape Cod Magazine readers and was named Business of the Year in 2014 from the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce.

As owner of Cleangreen, Jitka has been recognized for her leadership, business acumen, and commitment to Cape Cod. She was awarded 40 Under 40 by Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine; highlighted in Cape Cod Magazine in 2015 as one of 10 Inspirational Women; awarded Business Woman of the Year in 2015 from Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine; and as 2016 Small Business Owner of the Year from Cape Cod SCORE.

The Dream Continues

Even with her company’s success, Jitka has not stopped dreaming, and encouraging her Cleangreen staff to do the same.

In 2011, she earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Suffolk University. She is a member of the Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP); the Greater Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce; a past president of the Business Network International (BNI) Convergence Team; President of the Rotary Club of Hyannis; and Chair of the Board for Flower Angels USA.

Her personal involvement in the community extends to her company which supports several nonprofits and which encourages her employees to find similar ways to give back.

Understanding the importance of a healthy work-life balance, Jitka enjoys spending time with her family as well as riding her bike throughout beautiful Cape Cod. Of course, she continues to dream because she knows that is how she will continue to grow, both personally and professionally.
